Liposuction

Liposuction – lipoplasty – is a surgery of which aim is to remove the excessively accumulated fatty tissue from some body regions and to improve  appearance of these regions. Regions where the  liposuction
can be done: areas of abdomen, hips, buttocks, tights, calves and ankles.

 

 

Course of the procedure

A surgeon performs small incisions on the skin and administrates an analgesic and reducing bleeding fluid into the operated area. Then he partially aspirates the fatty tissue. The maximum of 2,5
to 4 litres of tissue can be removed safely during one session. After the surgery a special pressure clothing, which helps to reduce swelling and faciltates shrinking of the skin, has to be worn.
A diet rich in proteins, vitamins, zinc, iron, walking, swimming and cycling are recommended. Two weeks after the procedure the massages are advisable. The reduction of circumference of the operated area becomes established after
4 to 6 weeks.

 

Anesthesia

The procedure is carried out under local,
epidural or general anesthesia, depending on the localization and the quantity of the removed tissue.

The conditions of the procedure process

Before the procedure an anaesthetic consultation takes place. If needed, the essential laboratory tests are ordered by the anaesthesiologist. Absolute contraindications to the procedure are: arrhythmias and heart diseases, uncontrolled hypertension, clotting disturbances and vascular diathesises, uncontrolled diabetes, varices and phlebitis of the lower extremities, purulent infection of the operated area. Smoking can badly influence the wounds healing and can worsen
the procedure’s results.

 

Time of hospitalization

A patient usually stays in the clinic for 1-3 days.
14 days of convalescence in home conditions is recommended.
