Vascular lesions removal

The aim of the procedure is to remove various types of vascular lesions. From superficial thin and narrow <0,5 mm visible vessels through red 0,5 to 1 mm telangiectasias of legs, trunk, faceto deep 1-4 mm blue veins on legs. Furthermore the indications are: flat angiomas, cavernous angiomas and lesions such
as erythema on a face, a neck and decolletage.

How does it work?

Laser energy is absorbed by hemoglobin in the widened blood vessels and converted into thermal energy. This process is called selective photothermolysis. Next a high frequency current heats up and destroys
a vessel without damaging epidermis and dermis. Synergistic cooperation of the laser energy and the electric current (elos) is more effective and safer than technologies based only on the optical energy.

Course of the procedure

Skin area which will undergo the procedure should be clean, without any preparations, make-up, deodorant, perfumes and cream. First results are usually visible after the first treatment. Series of treatments performed every 4 to 8 weeks is usually  recommended. The number of treatments depends on the extent of the vascular lesions.

After the procedure

For the first five days after the treatment it is necessary to avoid factors which can cause
the skin damage, such as hot bath, massages, intensive exercises. For a month after
the treatment a patient should avoid sun and use creams with high level of ultraviolet sunscreen
– at least 30 SPF.

Contraindications

- Photoallergy, photohypersensitivity
- Taking Accutane (Isotretinoin)  during last
6 months
- Pregnancy
- Atypical warts, neoplasms, pigmentation disorders
- Implanted pacemaker or automatic internal cardiac defibrillator, (Caution: after consultation with cardiologist)
- Tan
- Unhealthy skin in the procedure region (ulcer,  psoriasis, eczema, rush, infection)
- Taking drugs causing photohypersensitivity
- Keloid in history
- Uncontrolled diabetes

If diluting blood, anticoagulant drugs  are taken,
it is indicated to discontinue  them two weeks before the procedure. After aggressive chemical, mechanical  peeling, skin injection or fillers administration you should wait for the  procedure for two weeks. After laser dermabrasion you should wait for the  procedure for at least three months.

What is an Elos technology

  • The synergistic acting of optical and high frequency current energies.Optical energy is absorbed by
the pigment (hemoglobin in blood vessels, melanin) and exchanged into warmth, which in a thermal way destroys the target cells. A current is conducted through the route of increased temperature and additionally heats the target. The current action does not depend on the amount of melanin in epidermis, because of that, these procedures can be carried out even among people having dark complexion, without any risk of damaging the epidermis. The electric energy has ability to penetrate much deeper reaching deeper lying structures than an optical energy alone.
  • The increased effectiveness and safety of procedures where the elos system technology is used.
The greater safety is connected with the usage of lower level of optical energy, what is compensated by a strong and highly selective action of bipolar current. The summary amount of energy is higher but risk of epidermis damage minimal. This unique synergy enables to reach the deeper lying structures and the structures which have smaller ability to absorb the optical energy: fair hair, collagen, fat. During
the procedure a skin temperature is being monitored all the time.
