Skin regeneration

Loose skin of face and neck, puffy bags, wrinkles; changes caused by photoaging: discolorations, widened blood vessels, diluted pores, patchy skin colour, dropping eyebrows, deep nasolabial folds; body firming.

Course of the procedure

Skin area which will undergo the procedure should be clean, without any preparations, make-up, deodorant, perfumes and cream. FotoFacial RF procedure was devised in year 2006. Its creators are Patrick Bitter MD, PhD and Stephan Mulholland, MD,PhD. A procedure concerns
the whole body, but mainly face, neck, cleavage and hands.

The successive phases of the treatment contain

1. Vascular and pigmented lesions removing
This stage is  the skin photorejuvenation.
2. Smoothing the skin and making it firm.
This effect is obtained by the changes in
collagen fibres structure – to increase their tension and structure without thermal damage of the epidermis. The area of action – dermis,
a character – volumetric.
3. Reduction of deep wrinkles.
It is based on the skin regeneration and
the effect of filling wrinkles by the punctual warming of the dermis.
4. Bruises, discolorations, and widened vessels under eyes removing.

After the procedure

For the first five days after the treatment it is necessary to avoid factors which can cause the skin damage, such as hot bath, massage, intensive exercise. For a month after the treatment
a patient should avoid sun and use creams with high level of ultraviolet sunscreen – at least 30 SPF.

  Results

The results such as an improvement of skin tension are visible just after the procedure. To obtain
the permanent effect it is recommended to undergo from 3 to 5 treatments in 4-weeks intervals and then one traetment every half a year. The procedure is safe, painless and an anesthesia is not necessary.

Contraindications

- Photoallergy, photohypersensitivity
- Taking Accutane (Isotretinoin)  during last 6 months
- Pregnancy
- Atypical warts, neoplasms, pigmentation disorders
- Implanted pacemaker or automatic internal cardiac defibrillator, (Caution: after consultation with cardiologist)
- Tan
- Unhealthy skin in the procedure region (ulcer,  psoriasis, eczema, rush, infection)
- Taking drugs causing photohypersensitivity
- Keloid in history
- Uncontrolled diabetes

If diluting blood, anticoagulant drugs  are taken,
it is indicated to discontinue  them two weeks before the procedure. After aggressive chemical, mechanical  peeling, skin injection or fillers administration you should wait for the  procedure for two weeks. After laser dermabrasion you should wait for the  procedure for at least three months.

How does it work

To cope with the demand for safe, not invasive procedures of treating skin affected with photoaging, many devices were created, of which operating is based on the usage of light energy. The main limitation
of these therapies is that the optical energy is absorbed by epidermal melanin, what causes that less energy penetrates to deeper layers. Besides, it is not absorbed by collagen. The solution is to use an electric energy, which effectiveness does not depend on the amount of pigment in epidermis, which also penetrates to the deeper structures with higher electrict conduction, without epidermal damage.
The most optimal solution is a simultaneous application of optical energy and bipolar current that is the elos technology. The procedure of regeneration and firming the skin with elos technology is much less painfull than any other technology available on the market and effects are achieved  2-3 times faster and are more permanent.

Skin firming

The indication to the procedure is a loss of proper skin tension and flabbiness of  skin especially affecting neck, abdomen, arms and cleavage. We obtain an improvement of firmness and tension of the skin.
The additional effect of a series of treatments is the improvement of appearance and the reduction of striae. The procedure is carried out with the ReFirme ST laser system and a medical body modeling device called VelaSmooth.
