Correction of auircles

The aim of the procedure is to improve the appearance of ears by the correction of auricle’ s position and possible shaping of unformed elements.

 

Course of the procedure

During the procedure the angle between the auricle and the skull is reduced and the proper anatomical shape is restored. Skin is stitched with thin sutures. A procedure lasts about an hour.

 
Postoperative course

Sutures and postoperative dressings are usually taken off on the seventh day after the procedure. For a few weeks ears should be protected from injuries and cold. For at least 6 weeks you should sleep in a headband to protect the ears from accidental injury while sleeping.
 

The conditions of the procedure process

Before the procedure a patient is consulted by
an anaesthesiologist who orders  necessary tests. Contraindications to the procedure are: clotting disorders, uncontrolled hypertension and purulent inflammation of the operated area.

 
Time of hospitalization

Usually there is no need to stay in a clinic.
Healing lasts about 7 days. Then a patient puts on a headband for a night through about 6 weeks. Postoperative controls after 6 weeks and 6 months from operation.
