Nos shape correction

The aim of the procedure is to change the shape of the nose and correct its appearance. A humpy, too long, high, wide, saddle, curved or with a deviated nasal septum nose can be qualified to the surgery.

There is a possibility to change a shape of a nasal tip, position of the wings of the nostrils and the size of the nostrils and also to change completely  the shape and size of the nose.

 

Course of the procedure

The surgeon performs incisions inside the nose, so they are completely invisible outside. The surgery lasts from 1 to 2 hours.

 

Postoperative course

After the surgery  setons are put into the nose (oiled tapes press the damaged vessels and support the chondro-osseous nasal skeleton). Outside a firm dressing is applied, which aim is to fixate the nose. The setons are removed after 2 to 7 days, and the dressing after 9 days. After the dressing is taken off the nose is swallowed to a different degree. A normal look of the face is obtained after about 2 weeks, a complete healing lasts about six weeks. During the postoperative period (about 2 weeks) limiting of the physical activity is advisable. Sport can be practiced after 3 months.

 

Anesthesia

The procedure is most often carried out under general anaesthesia.

 

The conditions of the procedure process

Before the procedure an anaesthetic consultation takes place. A doctor orders  necessary tests. Contraindications to the procedure are: anaemia, vascular diathesises, uncontrolled hypertension, and purulent sinusitis. Smoking can badly influence the wounds healing and worsen the procedure’s results.

 

Time of hospitalization

The time of hospitalization is usually 2 days.The  dressing is kept for 9 days. A return to work after about 2-3 weeks, Sport practising after about 3 months. Controls in the clinic after 6 weeks and 6 months after the operation.
